This was a complex commercial property matter concerning a significant dispute concerning the properties fitness for purpose, asserted by our client, the tenant, who is a successful multinational company. Complicated and in-depth legal arguments were asserted in relation to the air conditioning units and in particular whether the disrepair of the same could be considered true disrepair. Further to advise the conference from Mr. Mark Galtrey of Falcon Chambers, the decision was made to cease paying rent in order to force a settlement. This tactic was successful and a settlement was reached in our client’s favour releasing from the lease.
